Emeilia (Doodlez) Bruno
I’m Emeilia Doodlez, an artist focused on stop-motion character design, puppet fabrication, and handmade set creation. I’m drawn to storytelling that lives in physical space, where characters are built, posed, and animated by hand, and every imperfection becomes part of the story.
My work is rooted in traditional, tactile processes: sketching characters with performance in mind, translating drawings into three-dimensional forms, and designing puppets and environments that feel expressive, fragile, and alive. I’m especially interested in how materials like fabric, wire, foam, and paint can communicate emotion and constraint in ways that purely digital work can’t.
I approach character design as something meant to be handled and moved, not just viewed. Whether I’m designing a puppet, a prop, or a set, I think about weight, balance, range of motion, and how a character’s body language tells a story before they ever “act.”
My goal is to create intimate, character-driven stop-motion work that explores performance, control, and identity through handcrafted worlds and creatures. I’m currently building toward short stop-motion projects that blend symbolism, physical fabrication, and emotionally grounded storytelling.
