“Tea Party” A Halloween mixed-media project
The final diorama was made entirely from foam, popsicle sticks, fabric scraps, and a handmade armature figure wrapped in yarn with a hand-sewn outfit. I used a barbie doll base as the severed head and body.
After taking photos I was able to digitally edit and draw over for some of the lighting and textural affect.
This project pushed me to think about visual storytelling across different mediums, from composition and lighting to texture and tone and reminded me how much I love combining craft and narrative.
“The Subway” Mock Chappell Roan album cover
I started by sculpting and painting a face with epoxy putty on a Barbie doll base that I then drilled holes into. I  filled those spots with yarn wrapped wire to create opposable hair pieces.
I designed and then crocheted a suit shirt and jacket, before crafting a 2D backdrop collage out of magazine scraps and construction paper. Photographed then digitally drawn over.
The Definitive Betty Boop Mock book cover spread
I brought this classic icon back to life by creating an opposable figure out of wire armature, tape, and epoxy putty for the solid parts such as the feet and waist.
The figure was then wrapped in yarn, I crocheted her iconic dress and sculpted her head out of foam clay. Her hair was creatively crafted using steel wool.
I was then able to pose the doll for photos which I could then digitally draw on top of to create the finished spread.
